Shorty Rossi isn’t just a reality television star and actor, he’s also a tireless advocate for pitbull rescue and an avid cigar smoker. So when it was time to celebrate his birthday, he combined the two things he loves and threw his birthday bash right here in Las Vegas to benefit Cigars for Warriors and Pinups for Pittbulls.

Rossi’s birthday bash, held at Binion’s Gambling Hall and Hotel off Fremont Street in Downtown Las Vegas, drew a healthy crowd of local cigar smokers, visitors from throughout the country, and advocates for two very important charities: Cigars for Warriors and Pinups for Pitbulls. Lending a charitable angle to his party was something Rossi believes was important because it’s part of who he is.

“It’s one thing to celebrate your birthday, but to be able to use it to help two causes you feel very strongly about is really cool,” Rossi said. “Everyone knows about my love for pitbulls and what I’ve done there. And, to be able to share cigars with our men and women fighting oversees is a special thing.”

Rossi had his own line of cigars available for purchase at the event with Cigars for Warriors receiving a two cigar donation for everyone purchased. On hand Shorty had several of his different cigar offerings which you can read more about on his website. Patrons flocked to buy a cigar knowing it was going to a good cause.

“It really is a piece of home when you send a cigar to someone serving in a battle zone,” said Tim Clune, event coordinator for Cigar for Warriors. “Having men and women come home, see you at an event, and tell you how much it meant for them to receive a cigar during a stressful time is really very special.”

In addition, the party was also a fundraiser for Pinups for Pitbulls to help them fund and produce their popular calendar. The proceeds benefit pitbull rescue efforts.

In addition to Shorty, and the two charitable organizations, local cigar entrepreneur, and straight-up funny guy, Paul Vato also supported the event which was held right next to his shop inside of Binion’s.

“The cigar community in Las Vegas is very strong and growing every day,” Vato said. “With more and more visitors coming in, and the local community strong, events like this really show how we can band together.”
